The process of moving out can be quite simple as long as the tenants are prepared and well organized in their approach. Below is a list of items you should consider to help make your move as smooth as possible. We've broken down in more detail what we consider the key components.

-Giving notice to roommates if applicable
-Property may be subject to possible showings prior to move out date
-Costs of moving

-Applying a pre-inspection if desired
-Handing keys back
-Final inspection/outgoing condition report
-Change of address administration
-Credit Reporting if applicable

First off, we are sorry that you are leaving but also want you to receive as much of your security deposit back as possible. For that to occur, you must comply with all of the terms of your rental agreement and all obligations imposed by state law. Along with the list above, the following detailed information is offered to help assist you in the process of receiving your full security deposit back. In stating the obvious, the premise must be clean, empty of debris and undamaged. Additional move-out charges (provide link to move-out charges page) may apply if property is deemed otherwise.
You must clean the property thoroughly if you wish to get your full security deposit back. That means removing all debris, including personal belongings as well as all trash. Any items left behind will result in the tenant incurring all necessary charges for their removal. Pay particular attention to kitchens, bathrooms and laundry areas. These areas must be cleaned inside and out, which includes any/all appliances in that area (i.e. stove, washer, dryer, sink, showers, etc...). Furthermore, all floors, walls and ceilings must be washed and restored to original cleanliness. Both the window sill and window must be washed both inside and outside, if possible.
All tenants have the right to a pre-inspection of his/her property to determine what, if any, deficiencies or defects may be currently evident that might fall outside what is considered reasonable wear and tear. Moreover, pre-inspection results are not a guarantee that you will not be charged for items not pointed out during the walk-through, which might include any damages or defects that may happen between the pre-inspection and final inspection. Pre-inspection must be scheduled within two weeks of the tenants planned move-out date. If you would like to make an appointment, please do so via email at firstname.lastname@example.org .
Prior to your vacating, and under terms previously determined, there may be a set amount of time, traditionally 30 days, in which your apartment will be shown to prospective residents. We will also do our utmost in supplying the tenants ample notice previous to any such showings. At StarCities we fully respect the tenants right for privacy and we will make every effort to balance that with our need to rent the unit.
We also have to remind all tenants that we participate in a national credit reporting service. This means that all information regarding your tenancy, payment history and any other relevant material may be reported to them. Hence, you are hereby notified that a negative credit report may be submitted if you, the tenant, fail to meet all terms and conditions of your previously stated credit obligations.
In closing, we want to wish you the absolute best of luck in all your future endeavors.
